Deep House was born in Chicago, raised in England. To me, this style is also forever tied to a YouTube channel I discovered in my late teens: StreetPlayer.

That channel used to film dancers performing in the streets, right in the middle of everyday life — surrounded by people heading to work, shopping, or just going about their day. What struck me most was the contrast: while the crowd carried on, these dancers chose to exist differently.
They expressed themselves right there, in public spaces, without shame, without fear of being judged. They danced wherever they wanted, as if the street itself was their stage.

What made those videos so powerful was the gaze of the passersby. Some would stop, some would judge, but it didn’t matter — the dancers kept going, boldly and freely. The style they used was called Cutting Shapes — fast, fluid footwork that pairs perfectly with the rhythm of Deep House.

Today, the channel is no longer active, but its inspiration lives on. ClubHouse is my way of keeping that spirit alive. A playlist to get you in the dancing mood, no matter where you are — in your room, your living room, or maybe even on the street.

Let yourself go. And don’t be afraid of the eyes watching. 💃🕺
