We all have habits we return to without really thinking about them.
Some are visible. Others are much more subtle. For some people, it’s a morning coffee, a cigarette, a screen, or simply a way of passing time without really noticing it. For me, music is one of those things. It’s not just something I put on in the background. It’s a style I naturally come back to, no matter the moment of the day. Tracks that sometimes loop, that settle into the space, without necessarily asking for full attention.
Over time, I realized this kind of music often follows me in moments where I want to slow things down a bit. Not to escape anything, but simply to create a sense of continuity in the background.
I don’t really see it as an addiction in the strict sense. It’s a strong habit, yes — but I’m also fully capable of stepping away from it. I listen to podcasts, other styles of music, and I can easily go through parts of my day without any music at all.
And in everyday life, I’m not the type of person who tries to control the music in the room. I enjoy creating playlists, but I also naturally leave space for other people’s music. I don’t try to take over the atmosphere or keep everything focused on what I listen to.
It’s something I keep for myself, or share when it feels right. This playlist is simply a collection of those kinds of moments. Tracks I come back to often, for no particular reason, but always with the same intention: letting music exist in the space around me.
