Madd Dogg's Rhyme Book 📘

Old School Radio – Memories of Los Santos

Of all the games that shaped my childhood, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas stands out like no other. Not just for the action or the missions, but for the music. It was the first time a video game made me feel like I was really driving — flipping through radio stations, windows down, fully immersed. And those stations… they pulsed with the sounds of 90s and early 2000s hip-hop: Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Cypress Hill, Slick Rick — legends, all of them.

It wasn’t just a game. It was a musical awakening — a gateway to a whole era I hadn’t lived through, but came to understand and love through the fictional streets of Los Santos.

The title of this playlist takes its name from one of the game’s most iconic missions. OG Loc, a character as ambitious as he is clueless, dreams of making it big in the rap game. But there’s one problem — he’s got no talent. So what does he do? He steals Madd Dogg’s rhyme book — Madd Dogg being a real up-and-coming rapper in the game’s universe. It's a hilarious, yet memorable moment that captures the time when rhymes were gold.

This playlist is a tribute — to that era, to those artists, and to those memories.
